POSITION TITLE:Resource Center Advisor/Facilitator PROGRAM:WorkBC REPORTS TO:SiteManager Location: Squamish |Whistler Status:Full – Time (37.5 hours per week) Wage Rage: 25-$27/hr
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Resource Centre Advisor/Facilitator is responsible for supporting the job search activities of clients who utilize the Resource Centre as well as facilitating workshops on a range of topics related to employment readiness.
The Resource Centre Advisor supports client activities in the Resource Centre by providing clients with guidance in using computers to register for employment services and job searching; by posting job leads, printing resumes and cover letters. The incumbent supports the team and program operations by performing frontline services; processing client, staff and government records/reports; purchasing supplies; and drafting/printing promotional material such as brochures, bi-weekly jobs lists and newsletters etc. RESPONSIBILTIES:
Provides general reception and customer support: Involves opening/closing the resource room
Assists clients in the use of computers, photocopier/printer
Register clients into the resource centre with valid ID
Assist clients to access and use online government databases related to their employment situation, more specifically registering for a BCeID and Online Employment Services
Administers one-on-one support while client(s) are in the resource room, assisting with resume writing, employability readiness skills, and directing client to the appropriate hand-out material available in the resource room;
Maintains a current job board for clients on a daily basis; orders and maintains current resource material to assist clients with job search and identifying community supports;
Updates and maintains office and client inventory; purchase office and client supplies as needed. Ensure the
Resource Centre is well stocked with current job-search related resources
Provides support to clients with computer use, resumes, and job search techniques as required;
Oversees client computer use in the resource room;
Assists clients with the job search process and making referrals to supportive services;
Provides clerical assistance and staff support: Includes data entry, tracking funding applications, word processing, photocopying, faxing; running reports and maintaining resource materials;
Conducts Working collaboratively with Job Developers to ensure Employment verification can be obtained for all clients and Employers recruitment needs can be met.
Working collaboratively with WorkBC sites and colleagues to ensure any clients who loose employment can be booked back into the site quickly and efficiently.
Facilitates one to one and group workshops on a variety of topics related to employment readiness.
Other duties as identified by the Site Manager.

Ability to type at 60 w.p.m
Exceptional administrative skills including: organizational skills, developing systems and processes, data management and reporting, scheduling and overall service coordination
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma; or equivalent combination of education, training, employment and career counselling, and/or vocational counselling certifications.
Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) designation an asset
Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing client service and resolving issues both in-person and in a virtual service delivery environment,
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds.
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training or other customer service/conflict mediation training
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Excellent knowledge of general employment counselling principles, adult learning principles, job search strategies, and labour market information;
Dynamic interpersonal skills and a desire to assist others in finding the help they need
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, data base systems and web browsing
Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search
