Back in Motion Health Services has a part-time to full-time position available for a Kinesiologist to work at our Abbotsford site.

Clinical duties include:

  • Evidence-based assessment and treatment services for clients who have sustained a variety of injuries and conditions, usually with a goal of assisting them to return to work. 
  • Implement, monitor and progress exercise and work simulation programs.
  • Management of resources, scheduling clients, tracking attendance, ensuring report timeliness and communicating with various stakeholders (insurance company, employer, physician, etc) in conjunction with the team Physiotherapist
  • Develop structured Gradual Return to Work (GRTW) plans.
  • Monitor the GRTW plan to facilitate a successful outcome.
    Mentoring and training will be provided.  The Kinesiologist will work, at times, independently and at other times will work on a team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists/Counselors, Physicians, and Administrative Staff. Our goal is to assist clients to return to work and improve their quality of life.



1. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in evidence based orthopaedic, concussion, neurological or mental health practice with a strong emphasis on active rehabilitation. 
  • Knowledge of psycho-social aspects of disability.
  • Travel may be required to other locations in the lower mainland.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics or equivalent degree.
    Memberships & Associations: 
  • Member or eligible for membership with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK).

  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem solving and sound clinical reasoning skills.
  • Practical skills and strategies for working with clients with various medical conditions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of active rehabilitation and evidence based interventions for physical rehabilitation.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing demands and schedules.
